Field Trip: Explore Oman's Heritage

Al Dakhiliah Governorate Tour

As part of the conference program, you will have the opportunity to embark on a journey through the rich heritage of Oman’s Al Dakhiliah Governorate. The program includes visits to three remarkable sites.

Site 1: First, we will explore Falaj Al Khatmeen, an ancient irrigation system recognized as a UNESCO world heritage site in Birkat Al Muoz.

Site 2: We will visit Oman Across Ages Museum, located in the Wilayat of Manah at the heart of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. The museum tells the story of Oman from its earliest settlers to the present day, showcasing different ages, dynasties, and civilizations. We will also explore Harat Al Bilad, one of Oman’s oldest archaeological sites and a treasure trove of historical significance. This architectural masterpiece boasts four mosques, 376 ancient houses, and nearly 250 wells, all dating back over nine centuries.

Site 3:  Our journey will conclude with a visit to Nizwa Souq, situated near the castle. Here, you will catch a glimpse of old Oman, with some sections retaining their ancient architecture and unrenovated structures.
